Journal Entry 15
Perhaps it is time I introduce you to my love… Joss Granger.
I have been so absorbed with telling the story about my family, I forgot that I am part of the story as well!
So… without much fanfare and ado, meet Joss.
He lived on the other side of town, and to keep fit for work (work always first on my mind), I would either cycle or jog to visit him.
At his house we would have long, animated discussions about all sorts of things.
However, at his house on this particular day, something made me rather nervous!
Joss’s dad looked really, well… creepy, and I did not like the look in his eye, especially…
…since he was wielding a spanner while doing it! o.O
Did Joss’s mom burn the macaroni and cheese or something??
That night I went home with alot to think about. Was it safe for Joss to be in that house? Was his dad evil? Was Joss’s mom okay?
By morning, I had made up my mind…and I invited Joss over to our house.
I was so happy to see that he was okay and, well I hate to say I thought it, but… alive!, that I hugged him before I even said hello.
I looked at him shyly and hoped that I was doing the right thing.
“Just do it, Maximillion, you will never know until you try!”, I lectured myself.
“There’s no me without you
There’s no meaning in life without you
Tell me why should I care ’bout doing my hair
When I can’t stop the thinking about you
There’s no moon without you
There’s no Saterday nights without you
There’s no walk through the park
No beat in my heart
No ‘I love you’, no ‘I can’t live without you'”**
My hands were clammy and my heart was a lump of coal in my throat, in those few seconds of pause I did not breathe.
I think the ring dazzled him speechless! *lol*
Phew, I can breathe again!
“Now we have a wedding to plan, mister!”
We let the whole idea sink in for awhile, and a few days later we arranged to meet at Joss’s house to set a final date. Really, I wanted to go there as well to check on his mom.
“Err… Hi? Umm… how is mrs. Granger?”
o.O I can’t believe I said that! But it was the first thought that popped into my head even before Joss.
“Hmmpff… She’s not here.”
o.O *meep* O.o
Joss came coyly down the stairs, *so cute, lol*, just like a teenager in love. I could not help to ask though, I had to know!
“Where’s your mom, Joss?”
“Umm… shopping, I think?” he said, with a puzzled look on his face.
Phew, I breathed a sigh of relief, seems as though I was not marrying into the Norman Bates family, afterall.
We spoke about our big day and eventually decided. We would get married right after Augustine and Veronique’s birthday, and we would have a small wedding at home with just family as our witnesses.
I could not wait for my love to move in with me and for us to finally be man and wife after so many years.
** Maxi’s proposal is a verse from a song written by Babyface and performed by Toni Braxton, “There’s no me without you”.
