The CrinkleWinkle Legacy

** A SPECIAL NOTE ** (23 May 2011)
I have been absent from this blog for a very long time. It is something that I really cherished and missed a lot in my long absence. After the update with the letter from Morti, I could not get my sims3 to load again at all. My son moved to high school, and then they moved schools. Various other personal issues left me unable to update nor did I have the energy or strength to start this again, even though it was something I truely loved doing.

However, I now have a new laptop. It has Windows7 though, and also a 3D graphics card and the sims updated to 1.19 if I remember correctly. I have not tried yet, so I am not really sure if I would be able to transfer the save files of Freewill Experiments and CrinkleWinkle Legacy from that computer to this new one. With that one the dvd drive is still broken, but I am planning to have it fixed ASAP. I am planning to start a new blog with the new PC, and will be adding a new blogroll to my wordpress soon. When my old PC is repaired I will then continue with these other two as time allows, if they will not work on the new computer that is.

I made many friends and have some faithful readers with these blogs, and to you all, I am thankful. For your companionship, advice, encouragement and inspiration. I hope that you will all be following my new blog in the future. I look forward to this new journey and hope that you will take it with me, and enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy creating it. I have a completely new idea which I hope will be received positively, as with my blogs before.

I have to create the sim I will be using and get the story started. I also have to remember how to use this bloody wordpress. *LOL*
The new beginning should be up and running in the next week or so, early next week at the latest is my target.

Until then, happy simming to you all, and thanks for the continued support and comments even though I was not around.

This journal will follow the lives of the many woman in the CrinkleWinkle Legacy.

As heiress to the family name and fortune, they have many commitments.

  • They must maintain a journal of their lives to record the CrinkleWinkle Legacy.
  • They must produce a female heir to pass the journal onto and carry on with the next    generation of CrinkleWinkle’s.
  • They may not marry or move in a rich sim as a partner.  Morticia was adamant that her future generation of girls would never rely on a man for their wealth.

This legacy will be played with the following optional extras:-

  • Matrilineal heir system
  • Family-trait   –   Kleptomaniac
  • Story telling

This is my first attempt at an ‘official’ legacy challange and it is also my first attempt at blogging, so hopefully it will not be too much of a disaster.  Please bare with me as I get to know the ‘ropes’ as it were with blogging, posting, snapshots and so on.  Hopefully I will improve as we go along.

In addition to the official rules, I also chose to randomise my founding custom sim’s traits and favorites.

I am playing on 190 days.

Morticia, the founder and current journal keeper.

Morticia, the founding sim.

Maximillion, the current heir and journal keeper.

Maximillion, generation 2.

If you have read my story up to date, you are well aware of the disaster that befell my game due to code 12, code 13 and black screen of death crash.

Generation 3 onwards will continue to be posted in this blog however, even if the story has had to take a new twist…which in hindsight is perhaps a good thing.

Valentia CrinkleWinkle, the current heir.

Valentia CrinkleWinkle, the current heir.

Note:-

All Generations can be found on top of the page via the pages option

The latest generation can be accessed from the current generation  widget on the right

Special thanks to Anthony from WORDPRESS.COM for all the assistance.

    Hi, everyone!

I am sorry for my long absence.
Various personal issues/circumstances, internet malfunctions and other things have kept me away from my game, this blog and really time for myself in general:(

I have not been able to even open my game since December, nor come online.

I apologise to my readers for this.
Sometimes life just throws unexpected curveballs that one can do nothing about.

Thanks for you understanding in advance.
    worsiedog.

I have been faithfully checking your blog not for story updates at this point but just hoping you’d post and let us know you’re okay, because you’re valued as a person and not just author of one of the best legacy storylines I’ve ever read. I certainly understand about the curveballs. I’ve had several in our family since December as well. (Several elderly family members having accidents within a couple of weeks of each other have kept us younger family members hopping, as well as freakish winter storms that left property destruction in their wake). I hope you get some time for yourself and time to enjoy and relax. And that’s all I have to say. The legacy story is least in order of priority compared to your well being. –SummerSong

Hi, I humbly apologise for the late, very late, reply. I have a new laptop, my old pc is still a bit… moody?, confrontational?, prehistoric… I am trying to determine which it might be.
The problem, however, that I do have at this very moment, is that the old pc, still does not have a functional dvd drive, and… this one has windows 7 and the games are super up to date, but the games and legacies are there with windows xp and update 1.6.
Have not quite figured out how I am going to work around that one..
I will be posting a new front page blog in the next week, explaining all, absence, reappearance and so on and so forth bla bla bla…

I really missed expressing myself… I am determined not to ever lose that again…

      Kind Regards,

      Pixie.

I hope everything gets better Worsie!

  9. kaldresh · April 20, 2010

Worsiedog! How are you??? Yes, it says kaldresh (read: the failed, doomed Burton Family or, if you’d rather, Surreal from the TS3 boards). I too experienced IRL difficulties and was offline for a while. But I’m back and so glad to see you’re around. I’ve deleted the burton family blog (you might want to remove from blog roll – lol) since there were so many game issues and installs/uninstalls/cursing and swearing, but I think I’ve got it right this time – hope you swing by. It’s soooo good to see you!

Hi, thanks for the heads up regarding your blog, I will remove it once I get started again. I have to remember how to use wordpress again :S

Have you continued with the new blog? What is the link?

      Pixie.

I really love this legacy. Did you give up on it? I hope you didn’t! I would be heartbroken! D: Please keep going!

  11. THE DUTCHMAN · May 23, 2011

God for you worsiedog, continue what you started and believe in yourself, eitherway you will win at the end.

    • worsiedog · May 23, 2011

      Thanks very much dad!
I am looking forward to starting this over again.
I hope you enjoy reading it.

      Me.

      • THE DUTCHMAN · May 23, 2011

I am certainly going to start right at the beginning and I am sure that I will learn something of someone very close to my heart. The bit I have read is impressive , you have a tallent I was not aware off and you must explore it and I am sure with great success.

        • worsiedog · May 23, 2011

Thanks, it got better as i got into it. I am not sure if I can continue with these two stories, but I do have a new one in mind with my new laptop.

    “Comment:
Well, I welcome you all again. After my long companionship in the forum is not, I could not procure the watchword to your old sketch and started a new one. I’m delighted that I am again with you.”

HUH??! LOL I forgot about all these weirdo comments one gets… What the heck are they trying to say??

    Hi Worsie! 🙂

  14. worsiedog · December 12, 2011

Hi DB… thanks for your continued support!… i am sorry… that I am not here… i am sad to say that my personal life dictates what i really enjoy atm…. 😦 i have my laptop sorted… but i have not played sims3 in more than a year… i do however have 2 blog ideas atm… i did transfer the crinklewinkle files from this pc to my laptop, but i have been too scared to open them. What a ninny idiot i am.
It is holidays for my kids now however… and sadly, what is going on in my personal life right now, has even dictated my studies, so i am not even sure if i am able to register for next year.
I know i have said it a gazillion times before.. .but i am using this time i have free to focus on things that i am good at, things i am really passionate about… and things that define me… and besides for family, there are just 2 things, and this is one… writing.
I have been writing, but not like i wrote when i sim’d, and frankly not sure quite how to put it here.
However, besides for recovering from a really tough, unpleasant, depressing, soul destroying year, i plan to channel my energy into the 3 things i am passionate about.

    Love and many huggles.

    Liesl.
