Chapter 1.5

When I told my boss and friend Luke Watson that I was pregnant he was very happy for me.  He was however less than thrilled that he would have to manage without me for awhile.  I have become quite dependable and have been putting in alot of extra hours at work.

Frankly I am relieved to have some time off!  I was really feeling strained and over-worked and I don’t want the stress to affect the baby.    I am going to spend some more time in my garden and perhaps plant some new seeds and expand it a little.  The income it brings  is really needed, especially now with a baby on the way.

I went to the park and bumped into Odin’s wife Heather.  She has three kids of her own  and she gave me some advice.  She really is a very nice lady and Odin is lucky to have her.   She suggested I read “Totally Preggers” and “Baby Incoming”.

I headed to the bookshop but unfortunately I could not afford both.  I bought “Totally Preggers” and would read the other one at the Library.  It was nice to sit in the park and take a break and I got very excited as I read through the pages of the book.

Morticia in the park

I have found my sleeping pattern becoming rather erratic and  wake up late at night with nothing to do.  I don’t  like sitting in the house as I don’t even own a chair yet *LOL*, or lots of indoor lights for that matter… so I spend more time outside at night in my vegetable garden and I find it very relaxing.

I also think this is a good thing as the would-be thieves that keep prowling the neighbourhood at night cannot rob me as I am always awake in their hours of business.

Look at that sky!

Look at that sky!

Just before I went on maternity leave Luke gave me a work assignment to get to know Constance Shelley as she was working for the company as a freelance writer and her and I would be spending alot of time working together.  I decided to work on that while on leave so I would not be too far behind when I  went back to work later.

I called and asked if she would like to meet me for lunch.  The company was paying so we went to the Bistro and sat outside enjoying the sunshine.  I was surprised to see she was pregnant as well and we shared tips and chatted excitedly about been mom’s.

Lunch with Constance

As lunch came to an end, I asked her who the father of her baby was.  I was not prepared for her reply.

“Jon Lessen, of course!” she replied enthusiastically!  I was stunned into complete silence, and hastily made my excuses and left.  I was so shocked it did not even sink in at first.

      Aww, thanks moondaisy 😀

I am glad you enjoying it.

Words just flowed very easily with Morti, she sort of took over the keyboard when relating her story.

ACK! Joe-Jon! I mean, Jon! How could you?!?!?!?

Pssst – sorry it took me so long to get around to catching up on your legacy. I decided to go in ABC order so I wouldn’t forget anyone. NOW. Prepare yourself for comment spam! I never used to do that when playing catch up, but I remember how tickled I was when you left me 47 comments in one day, so now I shall return the favor. Starting tomorrow. Which is officially Crinklewrinkle Day at my house.

    😀

LOL Catherine! Yes Joe-Jon really threw a curve ball at me.

Alphabetical order is the most “efficient” system anyways 😉
I hope you enjoy the CrinkleWinkle antics when you start reading them.
