I guess you wondering what happened to Tom Shallow’s grave?
We were so worried he would not find peace and would haunt our lot for all eternity. For some reason however, Mr GrimReaper decided or maybe Tom decided, that he would find better rest at the cemetery. I did go place flowers at his grave, but more about that later.
Maxi was very dedicated to our family and to help ends meet, she found herself a part-time job at the bookstore. It gave her less time for exploring the ourdoors and socialising, but I am very proud of her for her level of loyalty and commitment to the success of our legacy.
She kept her strong bond with her brother Lamar, and the three of them would often spend time together at home watching movies and seemingly a CrinkleWinkle family pastime, playing in the sprinkler.
**Umm, no… I can’t exactly explain the whole attraction to the sprinkler thing**
Geraldine really loved to paint and spent hours and hours doing so.
Her love of reading as a toddler had helped to develop a keen interest in writing and she would go down to the library in town and practice her writing skills. I suspect she might become an author in the future, but I guess only time will tell.
Maxi and Geraldine spent alot of time together and I was glad to see they were close. Being an only child, I had always been lonely. It was nice to know that they had each other to depend on.
Maxi and I worked very hard in our garden and we had lots of outstanding quality fruit and vegetables to sell. We all put our ‘spare’ pennies into our save for a stove fund. Even Geraldine contributed by selling her paintings. Frankly I think everyone was sick and tired of cold cereal and autumn salad. **LOL**
Finally the day came where we had saved enough, we even had enough to get a better fridge. Boy, was that day exciting. The thrill of cooking my first hot meal for the family is quite indescribable, but I guess my face says it all.
Jon was a really good dad, and came over often for dinner. He loved the fact that now there was more than just autumn salad on the menu. Though he was an elder, he still had boundless energy and found time for touring and making more music.
It was after one of these tours, which was longer than usual, that we talked about trying for another baby. We giggled at the idea that the girls would be teens and here we would have another little one in diapers!
The idea became more appealing the more we talked about it and before we knew it, it had manifested into a reality. I was so excited when I discovered I was pregnant, and Jon and I were like nervous young teens when we announced our news to the girls.
They took it better that we had anticipated and everyone looked forward with excitement to the arrival of a new baby.
Before we knew it, it was time for Geraldine’s birthday. Although the day was anticipated with much excitement, that feeling of dread still loomed that perhaps this would be another CrinkleWinkle disaster birthday!
You can see me in the background with my little bun in the oven **giggle**
Another beautiful daughter! **Gushing with pride**
Geraldine seems to look more like me than Jon, which I am thrilled about. In the end the party was a great success… and, in case you were wondering…
NO, we had no birthday disasters that day… **phew**
