~The letter~

Dear Valentia,

If you are reading this letter, then sadly I am no longer with you, I can only pray that I am the only one gone and that this letter will never be read at all.

It is not with gladness in my heart that I write this letter, but it is something that needs to be done.  If you are reading this, then no doubt it has happened, the bad thing that I hoped would not.

The bad man won… and now I am no longer with you.

“What bad man?”  I am sure you are wondering.  All will become clearer as you read further, but perhaps some truth came out after my death, this I cannot know.

First, an important matter needs to be laid to rest.  As you know, my mom Morticia started a legacy when she moved to Riverview all those years ago.  It was her wish that a female heir would always continue to document the family progress.  As you know with the responsibility of being heir, comes a sacrifice.

It was nanna’s wish that her future heirs’ never marry or move in a rich sim.  In the end when the family is very wealthy, this wish will be arbitary, but please, this is my mother’s wish and it should be honored for all generations to come.

Valentia, I chose you to my heir.  I want you to carry on with this tradition for our family.  It is not that I love Evangeline any less, please explain this to her.  It is simply that you, Valentia, remind me so much of myself and of mom.  Our family needs a feisty and strong woman to continue with this legacy.  One never knows the obstacles one might face.

Along with this letter you will find my thief diary, I hope you will read it.  It contains all that I have learnt in my career and all that one needs to know to become a master thief… not that I am insisting that you follow this career path, but such information is always useful.

Now for the part that is hard to write.  Of course you and I giggled about my job all those nights sipping hot chocolate in the kitchen.  But my job is not romantic Valentia… it is dangerous.  One gains many enemies in my line of work.

Unfortunately I gained an enemy… a very powerful one at that.  Perhaps you noticed I had been acting differently before my life ended(more than likely not pleasantly), you are so perceptive I am sure you would not have missed it.

I tried to put on a brave face… I really tried.

I guess you are wondering about the man,  honey, I can’t tell you his name.  It is too dangerous.  If you know his name then you are dead.  There is nowhere to hide if he knows that you know.  I can’t risk that, I can’t tell you.

I hope one day that justice will prevail, but all I can do is hope, for it is not likely.

When he threatened my life, and the life of my family, I was very afraid.  I needed help from someone, but in the world of thieves there are not many that one can trust with one’s life.

One person came to mind though, one person I could and would trust with my life, the life of my family, as he trusted me in the same way.

He will never betray me, he will never betray you… indeed he would die for you if he had to.

I told him what was going on, I asked him for help… he made a sacred oath… he promised to always protect my family.

Of course, I cannot tell you his real name either.  The man is very powerful… the man is feared by all.  He could find this note, I cannot risk that.  I cannot have more blood on my hands!

The one you can trust has a code name.  A name only he and I know, the man doesn’t know about our relationship, so if he tortures me before he kills me, this is a question he would never think to ask.

But still, he could intercept this letter, lawyers are corruptable afterall… at least this way my friend will be safe.

His ‘name’ is Vince Larinceo.

Remember it well dear Valentia… remember it well.

He will be there when you need him, he will be there even before.

When you ask him about Vince Larinceo he will know that you have read this letter.

Good luck my darling… I will always be with you in spirit, and remember I will always love you.

When you look at the stars twinkling at night, remember I am looking down on you with love.

Remember, goodbye is not forever…

*note from worsiedog – Thanks to Mr Parachute for the code name.

Vince Lariceo – Evil Concarnie Nearly but not quite…

I hope her mom left good tips in the thief journal. She did pay dearly for the knowledge in the end.

    • worsiedog · December 13, 2009

LOL, PiB, my bad.. I did not read Mr Parachute’s handwriting proberly and missed out an N… Fixed it now.. thanks..

I take it you do those word puzzles alot? LOL

      • Nicarra60 · December 13, 2009

Not a lot of those puzzles but if you suspect that there is a coincidence of letters, it doesn’t take much to confirm. 🙂

Evil is a rather unlikely name after all. But a code, that makes sense.

  2. Dee · December 13, 2009

    OMG, Evil is her protector!

The letter is so sad, but now we know. Chrysame had good reason to like him.

I can see it now. I want to write what I think will happen but will wait for the rest of the story.

    • worsiedog · December 13, 2009

Evil is too smexy to be a bad guy… no? LOL.. Chrysame will be pleased I am sure…

      • Dee · December 13, 2009

Oh, he is very “smexy”, but we just never know.

I can hear chrysame now. “I knew it”!

        • worsiedog · December 13, 2009

At least she will feel that her ‘groupie’ chairlady status is warranted. LOL

  3. Chrysame · December 14, 2009

Just for Dee I’ll say it. I knew it!! Now, where’s my I heart Evil mug? I’ll also take a poster of him jogging in his speedos, please and thank you!

I am very pleased. *jumps up and down* Yay!

    Dear Santa,

I believed in Evil Concarnie when others doubted him. Surely, this makes me a very good girl. Please give me an Evil Concarnie bobblehead doll. Thank you.

P.S. You rock the red suit.

    • Dee · December 14, 2009

ROFL, you are something else, Chrysame.

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

LOL Chrysame … bobblehead doll?? LOL

  4. pinkfiend1 · December 14, 2009

I knew Evil had to be a goodie. She could ahve Evil illigitamate babies! If she doesn’t move him in she can still make Chrysame jealous and have his children.
And Mr I’m a friendly natural cook can go fling hs fishing hook into another pond, afteall he will ahve quite a bit of money after he sells his house.
Besides Evil has to have better looking kids than Chris would.

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

LOL @ ‘flinging his fishing hook into another pond”

  5. Chrysame · December 14, 2009

Evil Concarnie babies? The mind boggles!

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

Imagine how cute they will look in mini tuxedo’s and speedos

  6. moondaisy101 · December 14, 2009

Oh my, this is drama with a capital ‘D’.
It must have been incredibly painful for Val to read all this. (It was to me to hear Maxie’s voice again.)
And all the references to death and torture *wail*

I really hope Evil Concarnie and Vince Larinceo are indeed one and the same. A code name… how very clever of Mr Parachute. It totally suits the whole ‘underground’ scenario.

    Very special update! 🙂

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

Thanks.. *sighs* yes it was sad to write that letter.

That was why the tears were rolling down her face at the end of the last chapter, V knew it would be a painful read.

I wanted to stress the danger involved with “the man”, and that is why code names, even if they are obvious to us, are necessary.

Remember, there is still something brewing in the horizon yet 😉

LOL, I was stumped for a name, so I asked him to help. He very kindly interupted his playstation playtime to figure out a good one for me.

Of course he hasn’t read the story to the end yet so he doesn’t know what it was all about, but found it all very intriguing 🙂

      • moondaisy101 · December 15, 2009

LOL – He brought that up while being consumed in ‘playstation playtime’… more kuddo’s even!
Mr parachute sounds entirely adorable. 😉

        • worsiedog · December 15, 2009

          He is 🙂

  7. jurocha · December 14, 2009

WOW. OK, so Evil is the one to be trusted. And he goes jogging in his speedos and wanders around town in a white tuxedo. Hm… I guess I might be inclined to prefer him above Chris.

Yes, yes, the Chris is cute, but Evil/Vince has this underground myth around him and was a true friend of Maxie: for sure, she would approve Valentia and Evil relationship. Valentia would be REALLY safe with someone who knows everything from the beginning and might even have some pretty dangerous connections himself.

Can’t wait for the next chapter!

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

Thanks for reading again jurocha 🙂

I had ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ in mind when I created Evil. I wanted him to be the bad guy that everyone was unsure of at first, but one that everyone grew attached to without understanding why in some ways. I think I managed that, so I am very happy.

I am just busy building some houses for my next repopulation of The Freewill Experiments so I will update this again tomorrow after I have played enough for pictures and so on.

Valentia needs Evil’s protection for sure! LOL, yes Chris is cute but he strikes me as too much of a woose/wuss(lightweight) to protect V from those bad guys out there.

  8. catherinesims3 · December 14, 2009

That was my sigh of relief. I am glad that Evil isn’t really evil after all. 😀

Wow. I never thought I’d say this to anyone, but I am glad that your game went up in a fiery ball of smoke. The story you have pulled from the wreckage is just super!

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

Thanks Catherine! I have to agree with you 🙂

Technically, Evil is evil even though he is Valentia’s friend LOL

His traits are: insane, great kisser, hot-headed, evil, athletic.

I think that is quite a nice mix 🙂

  9. Chrysame · December 14, 2009

Great kisser? He’s a great kisser? Oh, and other stuff, too.

    • worsiedog · December 14, 2009

LOL, I thought you would like that! Just justifies your good judge of character even futher 😉

  10. nessva · December 15, 2009

I am super happy that Evil isn’t really evil, and agree wholeheartedly about illegitimate Evil babies. lol.

But that doesn’t really make things any better for V, worse actually because her Mom told her that there is someone out there who murdered the family and will probably come after her – hence the need for a protector. scary.

    • jurocha · December 18, 2009

Hm… ilegitimate babies. Hm… Valentia giving in to her trait kleptomania… hm… becoming a city outlaw, but in fact just trying to get to the identity of her family murderer… WOW!

Yes, I can’t wait for the next update. And well… since nessva caught my attention to it: why having one when you can have two cuties? LOL.

I can live with that on The Sims. *g

  11. worsiedog · December 15, 2009

    *waves* @ nessva…

Indeed… the evil man will go to any lengths to erradicate all traces of his enemy.

LOL, amazing how so many minds think alike.. or perhaps we all have one track minds 0.o

The idea of Evil babies is most enticing indeed LOL

  12. SummerSong86 · December 15, 2009

Oh, poor Chris. He’s got some rotten luck there with V finding out about the “no marriage for heirs” requirement of her legacy right as they are planning a wedding. And definitely poor V, too. Even if that weren’t a requirement, it has to dump buckets of ice water on a young woman to learn she has inherited a deadly enemy and that until he is defeated, she puts anyone she loves at risk by being with them.

But it’s just as well. I had a sim once get interested in Chris and have a relationship with him. He didn’t turn out to have anything in the way of a complicated history with the town’s ladies, yet. The problem was he seemed to have nothing going on for himself at all, in fact. No job, no family strife like Sherman has. He seemed kind of lazy and he had that annoying habit of eating dirt just to show off. And be warned, one day he showed up for a date and he had a huge gut. From eating so much dirt perhaps? It didn’t go well with his brown old-man’s shorts look.

However, I’m not writing Chris off as V’s love interest, yet. I don’t know what twists and turns you have in store for us. It’s an exciting ride!

Sigh… Vince/Evil may be the first man since Jon to have enough “presence” to fill the screen the way Jon did. I’m happy to find out he’s not a pervy stalker after all.

    • worsiedog · December 15, 2009

LOL yay!!!! another Jon Lessen groupie… “BIG HUG”

Twists and turns at least you predicted right.. expect them!

Thanks again for dropping buy and the further insights on Christopher LOL

  13. worsiedog · December 17, 2009

Sorry, I am having the “please insert disk into the disktray” issue again… (for some reason) :/ so the update is delayed.

I will try to load it again just now.

  14. SummerSong86 · December 30, 2009

Have a Happy New Year, Worsiedog. And I hope your computer issues work out. I look forward to the next installment of your story!

  15. nessva · January 11, 2010

I miss you and your stories worsiedog, hope everything is alright with you and the family. 🙂

  16. moondaisy101 · January 14, 2010

    Hi, worsiedog! 🙂

I have got serious Crinklewinkle withdrawal symptoms.
Let me know how you are! xxx

  17. pengwen72 · April 9, 2010

Wow! I just started my own legacy and your page and blog are very inspiring! Especially your amazing ability to use whatever problems happened and continue the story instead of giving up.

I am backing up all my files constantly because of what happened to you!

Thank you for the inspiration and you are an amazing writer!

    • worsiedog · May 23, 2011

Hi, thanks for the positive comments.
